With some practice, you can become a wonderful mountain biker. Practice the techniques described in this article and you will be on your way to becoming a better biker.
Anyone who enjoys riding a bike will also enjoy the sport of mountain biking. It is a little more dangerous and adrenaline inducing, but it is quite a bit of fun and a challenge to ride the dirt trails.
If you want to practice mountain biking, then you can hone your skills around your home, school, bike paths, or even park. You may want to find a place with a steep hill so that you can practice on an incline.
Feeling Your Pedals
You want to get a feel for your pedals before you take off down a mountain. You first want to be able to move your foot away from the pedal and then replace it back on the pedal. This will take some practice to get good at, but once you master this, then you will be on your way to feeling your pedals and having more control.
Position Yourself By Learning To Sit and Spin
Sit on your bike and simply pedal around. Keep your arms a little bent and adjust the height of your seat to make sure that your legs are at least 70% extended when you pedal at the bottom stroke. Relax your body, so that your knees and elbows are never locked. This will enable to you feel the right position so that you will know if you are not riding correctly.
Gear Shifting
You need to learn how to shift the gears on your bike. By learning what each gear feels like, then you will learn how you should shift them to make your riding more competitive and fun. A higher gear will make it more difficult to pedal, but will allow you to go quicker, while a lower gear makes it easy to pedal and is helpful when you are climbing hills. Practicing shifting your gears will help you to learn when to shift to get maximum efficiency.
Coasting
Coasting is great fun. You need to practice coasting while standing up on your pedals. Keep your knees unlocked and your arms bent. Learn how to move your weight toward to back of your bike and get a feel for it.
Standing and Pedaling
It is important that you get comfortable with standing and pedaling on your bicycle. If you can lift yourself from the seat, then you should try cranking the pedals around a few times. Do this in both high and low gear until you become comfortable.
Dropping Down
Locate a curb that you can easily get to the top of. At a moderate speed, stand and coast from the top to the bottom of the curb. Do this using several different curb levels until you are comfortable doing this.
After you get these things where they are second nature, then you will be able to ride the mountain trails with almost no problem. With dedicated practice, you will get to where you love mountain biking and it is comfortable to you.

We all know that writing articles and blogging are the best ways of marketing your website online for free.
But what if writing articles feels just as daunting as climbing Mount Everest? This can be very frustrating when everyone tells you that you should be writing network marketing articles to get traffic to your site.
In this article, I hope to show the worried marketer how to write articles with some basic steps. I am going to assume that you have done your keyword research and will include these in your article. I am not going to discuss this; my main aim here is to help people with the actual writing process itself: getting ideas and getting them down on paper (or screen).
Getting Ideas for Your Article
This is for some the most difficult hurdle. If you are new to the industry, you may think that you have very little to offer. However, we all have skills and experiences that we can draw upon. For example, this article uses my own skills as a writer to offer advice to people in the network marketing industry.
Make a list of your skills and past work experience. Even a specialist interest or hobby can supply you with knowledge that others might not have. Do you use social networking sites? Your knowledge could be used to explain how to market a business using sites like Myspace or Facebook. Do you have administrative skills? You could write an article on how to organise your office and keep your inbox tidy (I would like to read this one myself!). Do you have children? You can write about how to run a business whilst looking after a family (I’m sure this would be a popular one!)
Another idea is to log on to a marketing forum and look at the kind of questions people are asking. If you’ve ever answered a thread in a forum, then why not expand on your reply and turn it into an article? This is great because you are targeting the issues that many people have so you will get lots of hits.
You do not have to be an expert in this industry to write network marketing articles. Just think of something that you can help others with and work out how it can be linked to network marketing.
How to Start
That white page or the blank screen can look very threatening when you can’t think of how to start or how to put your ideas into order.
You don’t need to actually write proper sentences yet. Start by jotting down your initial idea, and then underneath write down all the separate points you could make. For example, if you were writing about working at home round a family, you might think of these points: working space, time management, communication with family, delegating etc. Each of these will form a separate paragraph in your article. Once you have at least three or four, you have the basis of your article and you are ready to write!
Getting it Down on Paper
Now you have all your main points, you can write a short introduction. This will form your opening paragraphs and does not have to be anything more than explaining what your article is about and why it will be of use to the reader. If in doubt, have a look at the opening three paragraphs of this article. I have started off by stating why writing articles is important, then I have described why this is difficult for some people, and then I have stated why this article will help.
Next, you want to put your separate points in order, and expand on them. Write a few sentences on each one, describing your experience and explaining how you have solved the problem, or how it’s done in your industry or profession. Giving examples from your own life or other people’s helps the reader to relate to and understand what you are saying.
At this stage, do not worry too much about grammar, spelling, or getting your sentences right. You are still just making notes, and all this can be sorted out later.
Expand and Edit
If you have not already done so, you should start putting your notes into proper sentences and organising them into paragraphs. If you are not confident about your English or grammar, read it out loud. This can help you to hear where a sentence is clumsy or does not communicate itself. If you can find someone to listen to it or read it over, all the better. Use your computer’s spell-checker, but do be aware that not every mis-spelt word is picked up here because there are many words that are spelt the same way but mean a different thing.
Try not to use very long sentences. If a sentence is too long it becomes difficult to read and understand. Look for where you can break sentences up, or include commas to break the sentence up. If you really find this difficult, you might want to get someone else to edit it for you. Some freelance writers will do this for a small fee, and it will be less expensive than having them write the whole thing for you.
Once you are satisfied, finish the article off with a brief summary or closing sentence, and there you are! All you need to do now is check it over a few more times and then get submitting.
Now you’ve written one, you can write more and more, and the more you write, the more confident you will feel.

When you arrive at Cape Town International Airport and set off along the N2 towards Cape Town you can normally see a large cloud bank directly ahead of you. Once you get closer, Cape Town’s most famous land mark looms ahead of you larger than life. The question most visitors to Cape Town ask is, “is it that flat at the top?” The answer is yes, and it is all open to hikers and visitors from the Cable Car. How you get to the top is up to you, and there are many different scenic walks up.
The most popular walk, which takes you right to the top of Table Mountain, goes up Skeleton Gorge and comes down Nursery Ravine. This walk takes you across the table top, and to Maclear’s Beacon, the highest point on the mountain. Unfortunately, this walk is not for beginners. With nearly 10,000 rock and wooden steps to climb, and a whole lot more walking besides, this trip should take you the better part of five hours and be rather hard on the knees. Remember to take a lot of water and relax to rub your calf muscles often on the way down. Lactic acid build up can cause your legs to give way, and the steps are often very steep!
For a gentler walk up to the top of Table Mountain, you might want to take the Cecilia Circuit. This begins in the stunning indigenous Cecilia forest and will also take all afternoon, but is far easier. It is also easy to customize any of these walks to take you to the Cable Car station, if you don’t feel like walking down. There are also a number of walks that do not go to the top, such as anywhere on the Silvermine Nature Reserve and the Twelve Apostles.
If all of that sounds a bit too much like hard work, there is always the magnificent cable car. First ask yourself if you could handle being in a London Eye capsule, except eight times higher and suspended by a cable. If the answer is yes, a shuttle or taxi from the V & A Waterfront can take you there, or you can take Kloof Nek Road and follow the signs. The ride up is stunning, with a panoramic Cape Town and Table Mountain view. Remember to bring a jacket, because even if you can fry an egg on Long Street, it will still be chilly up there. The Cable Way costs $9 for an adult return, $5 for a child return and $21 for a family return (Prices in 2007).
A word of caution: the only wildlife you are likely to encounter at the top of Table Mountain are ‘dassies’ – a local rock rabbit. These creatures do not understand why these people are on their mountain, and if you try to pet or feed them they will bite. They have been known to keep fingers as trophies, so children should not leave the restaurant, gift shop and sight-seeing area alone.

Goal setting is not a difficult process but we make it so daunting, like we’re climbing Mount Everest. The secret to setting and achieving goals is to decide what you want and make a plan.
There are important steps along the way that will help you achieve your goal. We will look at the rules that will keep you on the path to getting what you want. When you set a goal and begin working on it, your life begins to change. It is an absolute fact that you can reach your goals. If you set it and follow the rules, you will reach it.
Rule 1: Make a decision about the goal you want to achieve.
This is the step where you will spend the most time. Deciding what it is that you want is critical to your living the life of your dreams. So many of us settle for what we think we can get that we don’t set the goal that we truly desire. This is your life and you only get one go around so make sure you are setting goals that you really want.
The other reason that this is so important is that you are trading your life for this goal. If you set a goal and it is not what you really want, then you are spending your days working to achieve something that does not ignite your passion.
Rule 2: Choose the right words and write them down.
Here you want to become clear about the language that you use to describe your goal. This is not a place to be wimpy. Goals should be clear and definitive. You don’t want to write, Someday I am going to lose weight. If you write the goal like that, you are placing your results in the future. You want to write your goal in the present tense.
The formula I use to write my goals, I learned from my mentor Bob Proctor. I always start with I am so happy and grateful now that…. (Finish the sentence with your goal in the present tense). An example would be I am so happy and grateful now that I am at my perfect weight that supports my lifestyle. I have all the energy and strength I need to accomplish my goals. You want to write your goals down.
Writing causes thinking. I used to write my goals down on my computer but it turned out not to be effective. Write your goals down the old fashioned way, on paper. There is a connection that is made by actually writing down what you want.
Rule 3: Get emotionally involved with your goal.
It’s great to write a goal but if you never get emotionally involved with it, you will never achieve it. This is where visualization comes in. Hold the image in your mind and see yourself achieving your goal. Feel what it’s like to have already accomplished it.
Gratitude is an important component to setting and achieving goals. Having a grateful heart helps you stay in a positive vibration. When you’re feeling positive, it is easier to successfully visualize your goals.
Rule 4: Invoke the Law of Attraction.
If you have written down what you really want and hold the image and become emotionally involved with it, you will invoke the law of attraction. The law of attraction states that energy flows where attention goes. James Allen wrote, “All that a man achieves and all that he fails to achieve is the direct result of his own thoughts.” If you hold your image, you will by law create the conditions and circumstances that are necessary for you to achieve your goal.
Rule 5: Have a Goal Card.
I carry my goal card with me at all times. It is the first thing I look at in the morning when I get up and the last thing I look at before I go to bed. Keep it in your pocket or purse and look at it periodically during the day. It will serve to remind you of your intention. If you put your hand in your pocket during the day or go into your purse, feel your goal card. Your words have energy and touching them will connect you to them.
Our thoughts are very powerful. Thinking about what you really want and declaring it will set in motion what you need to achieve your goal. Following these 5 rules can dramatically change the results you get in your life.
A Coach can help you optimize the goal setting process. We help you to get clear about what you really want and formulate the steps to achieve your goal. Goal setting really isn’t a difficult process as long as you keep the 5 rules in mind.

After a night at Mt Gorilla Nest lodge, it was a breaking day light on the 15th Saturday of December when a Led a Gorilla tour of 4 people from Abacus African Vacations. A cold gentle wind blew over Ruhengeri town, facing the Virunga Volcanoes. It is here that the where main Rwanda tourism offices are located so I handed in the Gorilla permits the group I led that was supposed to track Gorillas in Perc Des National Volcans. In our itinerary we were to Visit both Uganda and Rwanda Gorilla National Parks.

After interactions between the tourists, permit issuing officers, determining who is in the right condition for the most difficult trek and briefing about regulations from the ranger guides, the long awaited adventure commenced.

Since we had opted to trek the Susa group which is referred to as the furthest family in Perc des National Volcans , which was referred to as the farthest and most difficult to find, we felt the rain was doing us a favour by making them dormant.

We trekked through the thick vegetation, which the rain made rationally impassable. Several times the wet, slippery grass saw many of the trackers slipping and sliding, with some holding on to trees for support. After persevering for 6 hours, hiking several metres over 3500, the ranger guides advised that we had to sit only to find that we were completely surrounded by the group. The rangers grunted to guarantee that the silverbacks were friendly and as a sign of acknowledgement of friendliness, the silverbacks grunted in return. In effect, the rangers were conversing with the gorillas. With gorillas sitting all around and the babies swinging playfully in’ the low trees and one playful baby holding on to a tourist’s shoes, the one-hour view of the wider nasal cavity, broad chest, black shaggy hair with silverback males striking a contrast, we were amazed. It was a truly exhilarating experience and something I will remember for the rest of my life.

We later transferred to Gorilla resort Camp in Bwindi where we experienced the Virungas in Uganda. Our tour guides briefed us about what we had to do the next day. The next morning, we assembled at the starting point ready to go and track the Habinyanja Group. We started the walks but as others followed Wildlife rangers led the group as we began to file down the weather beaten path on a very steep hill that was covered with thick bushes, tall trees, and a few banana plants. A heavy down pour the previous night had left the path so slippery and most of the ladies were screaming for help as we were sliding and rolling on our bottoms down the steep slopes though it wasn’t smooth sailing for the guys either as one kept on falling when my hiking boots failed to stick in the mud and sent me sprawling down the hill. Sweating, swearing with groans of Fatigue, we continued given the cheer of the anticipation of the now looming encounter with the gorilla-Uganda’s most popular attraction!

An hour after the walk, we came across some mud and wattle houses surrounded by Banana gardens, pawpaw trees and passion fruits plants. Women and children abandoned their chores and starred at us. Some of us talked to them as a few of them were yelling at the whites we were tracking with saying-Muzungu a Swahili word that means the white man. We were given a five minutes break before we proceeded which we used to take water and take off jackets. . One of the guides Chris informed us that the hard part was yet to begin from the point where we were standing so he advised that we had to proceed without out bags or any luggage we felt was heavy to ensure the fact that we were light. We reached a certain point and the guide told us that the gorillas had been there a few hours ago. He spoke on his Radio Call and spoke to his colleagues.

Faster we moved only stopping to wait for those we had been waiting for that had relaxed to catch their breath. Closer the gorillas got as we could see a few of them sitting majestically and motionless in tree branches watching us. This was a signal that our efforts and determinations were about to pay off. We crossed a small river in one lip. So exhausted and excited, we crouched down and crowled closer to the gorillas in a total silence. Finally they came closer in a full view of Gorillas – over 20 of them –a mind-boggling sight! Two silver-backs sitting next to each other at the head of the group while other huddled together closely behind in silent stares as our ranger grunted to make them move closer. The bigger silver backs suddenly stood on fours and stiffened as one of the gorillas named Africa refused to sit with the group or even move with them. Eventually he left the bush and sat in the path behind us. We moved aside to let it join the others but all in vain. He could move behind us and whenever we could stop, he could stop as well so the rangers told us that he was trying to show the Silver backs that he too could lead and he wanted to make sure that all was well. But later he joined his family. Four one hour, we watched infants playing on this mothers’ bellies as the juveniles were somersaulting. Finally, it was time to retrace our paths back as we had three hours of climbing again………

Not even the drenching rain that poured halfway into our journey back could dampen our spirits. It was a memory I would never forget!

Rwanda has eight groups of gorillas. Each group has a strict social structure based on age, indicated by how a young one will check out of an eating point, playing space or sleeping area in. a particular area for the elder. Five groups are the ones typically seen during trekking. These are identified differently according to the numbers that constitute a group. Sabinyo group has 11, Sussa has 39 after the death of a baby gorilla on January 12th, Amahoro has 14, Umubano has 8 and group number 13 includes 17gorillas.

Though most times tourists desire to track Susa because of its large gorilla composition, Francis says numbers do not mean a thing.

Each family of gorillas is peculiar for instance; one group may have most playful children or an easy to interact with silverback, another biggest silverback among other behaviors that make tracking each group an exclusive experience. Nevertheless, seeing a particular group very much depends on where it is that day as gorillas are always on the move in search of food and safety.

By high merit of their habitat, Francis added, gorillas do not ~ have many predators. Apart from the buffaloes, golden monkeys and elephants that share and live in synchronization with the gorillas in lower altitudes, gorillas live in cold conditions which other animals cannot stand, providing them a monopoly of the mountain areas. Francis explained that they are able to live in such cold conditions because of their black colour pigment. “The black colour helps to attract and trap heat in the high altitudes of the mountains and at the same time makes gorillas less susceptible to heat stroke as they love sun bathing. Gorillas in this region can live up to 45 years with the silverbacks weighing about 200kg and females between 80 to 120kg.”

The diet of mountain gorillas largely consists of shrubbery.

The writers aim of getting involved in the gorilla tracking was also to study and analyse the diets of the Mountain gorilla and the constituents. She found out that Gorilla food constitutes of over 50 different plants, whose leaves, shoots and stems are eaten. For shoots, the gorillas benefit from mainly the rainy season mountain bamboos, when green and still tender, eaten with trocatea plants. The writer noticed that because the bamboo shoots are 84% water, the extra trocatea, tsile’s leaves, celery’s stem without the tree bark, young bamboo leaves, stems, urela cameronesis’ leaves and stem bark, flowers and roots, and dry season black berries grown on high altitude, provides a nutritious delicacy. Plus the bark of eucalyptus trees is also eaten especially by Ssusas of Rwanda, the largest gorilla group, for medicinal purposes. The male dominant gorilla also known as the silverback is particularly skilled in his knowledge of herbal plants and it is known that when one of his group members fall sick, the silverback will often lead the group to another sector of the park to find a particular herb and hearten the sick member of the group to eat it.

The writer learnt that Eating also depends on the prevailing situation in a group and the weather. Normally gorillas have three intervals of rest between each feeding, which amounts to 40% of their total time per day. However, if they have migrated in an area that has plenty of food, they will feed and then rest for longer periods compared to times and movement into a sector of limited food availability. In addition, if it’s raining heavily they become dormant; active again when it stops.

After getting pleasure from the larking about of the young gorillas and the sheer size of the male, with the one hour view apparent like 15 minutes, we headed back down the mountain to a hot coffee and a well-earned rest.

The Sun sign of Aries is the first to occur in the zodiac and represents those born between the dates of March 21st and April 20th. This sign is symbolized by the Ram due to the assertive, direct and headstrong characters of the animal and the Aries person. Famous Aries include the actor Matthew Broderick (and his wife, Sarah Jessica Parker), singer Mariah Carey and actress Reese Witherspoon.
The Aries person is opinionated and shows no hesitation in doing exactly what it is they want to do. Like the Ram, this person will charge ahead of the pack and be a leader. Acknowledging the opinions of others is not their strong suit. Though they are quick to act, they are not always likely to see it through to the finish line. The Aries person needs constant challenges, projects and goals and can’t be bothered with the mundane tasks like completion and tidying.
Aries people can learn incredibly fast due to an inherent curiosity. Their self motivation and enthusiasm are offset somewhat by impulsivity. If they are able to gain control over their scattered nature and harness that energy towards one project, anything can be achieved. Patience and cooperation are not the Aries’ natural territory but must be cultivated in order to work well with a team.
Also preventing many Aries’ from working well on a team is their wicked temper that is lit by a sharp fuse. This can be blamed on the signs ruling planet, Mars, which is associated with combat and war. But the anger drifts away quickly and the Aries person does not hold onto grudges. There is no subtlety to anything they do- to the point where they don’t consider it rude to bark out orders. But there aren’t devious motivations, either. What you see is what you get with this sign. Tact is possible but it will take this person more work than for those who don’t have this zodiac sign.
Aries’ have an adventurer’s spirit and long for the great wide open where they can be independent. They can leap at any challenge presented before them even if it means battering their horns against a wall. They can lead others into any battle but will leave the red tape and petty responsibilities in someone else’s hands. They have more important things to accomplish. Why bother with pebbles when climbing Mount Everest?
When it comes to love, the Aries still believes in chivalry and grand expressions of romance. The chase part of romance is where the Aries truly thrives, as it gives them something to charge after. Since day to day existence holds little appeal for the ram, their attention might wane after the have gained the victory. The Aries can be loyal, generous, romantic and tender but equally as rash and insensitive. They may cause drama in a stabile relationship just to have something to fight for. And if there is any writing on the wall about the demise of the affair, the Aries will be first out the door.

The gears in mountain bikes just keep getting more and more intricate. The bikes of today have as many as 27 gear ratios. A mountain bike will use a combination of three different sized sprockets in front and nine in the back to produce gear ratios.

The idea behind all these gears is to allow the rider to crank the pedals at a constant pace no matter what kind of slope the bike is on. You can understand this better by picturing a bike with just a single gear. Each time you rotate the pedals one turn, the rear wheel would rotate one turn as well (1:1 gear ratio).

If the rear wheel is 26 inches in diameter, then with 1:1 gearing, one full twist on the pedals would result in the wheel covering 81.6 inches of ground. If you are pedaling at a speed of 50 RPM, this means that the bike can cover over 340 feet of ground per minute. This is only 3.8 MPH, which is the equivalence of walking speed. This is ideal for climbing a steep hill, although bad for ground or going downhill.

To go faster you’ll need a different ratio. To ride downhill at 25 MPH with a 50 RPM cadence at the pedals, you’ll need a 5.6:1 gear ratio. A bike with a lot of gears will give you a large number of increments between a 1:1 gear ratio and a 6.5:1 gear ratio so that you can always pedal at 50 RPM, no matter how fast you are actually going.

On a normal 27 speed mountain bike, six of the gear ratios are so close to each other that you can’t notice any difference between them.

With actual use, bike riders tend to choose a front sprocket suitable for the slope they are riding on and stick with it, although the front sprocket can be difficult to shift under heavy load. It’s much easier to shit between the gears on the rear.

If you are cranking up a hill, it’s best to choose the smallest sprocket on the front then shift between the nine gears available on the rear. The more speeds you have on the back sprocket, the bigger advantage you’ll have.

All in all, gears are very important to mountain bikes as they dictate your overall speed. Without gears you wouldn’t be able to build speed nor would you be able to pound pedals. The gears will move the pedals and help you build up speed.

There are all types of gears available in mountain bikes, all of which will help you build up a lot of momentum if you use them the right way.

At this article you will read what mountain biking is as well as how to get the information on various kinds of mountain bikes.
The most commonly used Mountain Bikes are:
Downhill Bikes:Most prominently used for competition in which one goes down the hill. So with that speed, bikes need to be with tough frames and with heavy-duty brakes such as disc or hydraulic brakes.
XC Bikes: This is another kind of bike which is highly used for competition in which one can go both down and climb hills. So its frame should be light but reasonably tough. Brakes used in this particular bike are v-brakes and light disc brakes.
Hybrid Bikes: This category of bikes is a good option for those who want to ride on both mountains and road.
These bikes either run on front suspension or on full suspension (which is a combination of both front and back suspensions). Various kinds of brakes employed in these bikes are:-
Rim Brakes: They are both light and powerful but their power decreases in muddy terrain where they become slippery.
Disc Brakes: They are light and powerful and are not affected by weather.
Hydraulic Brakes: They are very powerful and don’t need much maintenance, but are expensive than other brakes.
Frame Materials: The bikes can be made of aluminum, steel or titanium. These are very important elements of the bike as their composition determines the weight, strength, responsiveness and life of the bike.
Size: Like conventional bikes, mountain bikes come in small, medium and large sizes. But different manufactures use different reference point of measurement therefore sizing is not always consistent.
Latest Trends:
All Mountain Bikes: The “All Mountain Bikes” are characterized by 5-6 inch (125-150 mm) rims to take on very rough conditions.
29er Bike: This uses 700cc-sized rims and is suited for tires of 2 inches (50mm) width or more, so that it is able to roll over the obstacles.
Singlespeed: This is a blend of simplicity with innovation in suspension design.
Some of the other trends includeStable Platform Value Suspension Technology. Here the compressor shim stack has been replaced with a pair of overlapping cups. It also employs VPP suspension designs to balance different forces thereby eliminating unwanted compression without limiting bump absorption.

There are a few things that some people wish to do before they die. For some they want to climb Mount Everest, some want to see the ancient pyramids, and some just want to learn to ride a horse. Fortunately for me I was able to learn to ride a horse at a very young age and it’s something I have enjoyed my whole entire life. If you wish to learn to ride a horse I’ll give you just a couple of things that you should learn to do right at the start.

One of the first things that you should do when you learn to ride a horse is to learn how to lead one. That’s probably not what you had in mind but still, it’s kind of important. You shouldn’t be standing at the end of the lead rope trying to pull your horse along and you also shouldn’t be standing at their shoulder letting them lead you along. There’s no control in either of those methods. The best way to lead a horse is to stand with your shoulder pretty close to their throatlatch and about a foot over to the side of them. That way you have enough room between the two of you for comfort. With one hand right below the lead snap and the other holding the rest of the lead line, you will step forward with the horse hopefully following. If it doesn’t then you just simply push gently in the direction you want to go with the hand that has the snap. That will give you the most control over the horse.

Now that you know how to lead a horse your horseback riding lessons will flow smoother. When you learn to ride a horse you have to be in control and if you can lead one with control on the ground you have a better chance of being able to learn to ride a horse. Riding a horse works best when you know that you’re in control. If you think that you can’t ride a horse, you will never be able to learn proper horseback riding. They will know that you’re scared and take total advantage of you. That’s all there is to it. If you get scared just take some deep breaths and tell yourself that you’re the boss. Any time my mare and I have a “discussion” and she thinks that she’s the boss I calmly let her know that I’m the boss and that I’m always going to win. And I always do. You can’t get rough and be mean but you have to be firm. If you start beating and thumping on a horse, odds are it’s gonna scared and then you might get scared. Not a good thing.

You can learn to ride a horse by taking lessons but unless you are with a trainer that has a goal of teaching you something in particular, you might be able to get the same effects by watching a few videos or reading some horse training books. And a lot of those books you can purchase online for a reasonable cost. No sense making horse ownership any more expensive than it needs to be. If you learn to ride a horse, you are learning a skill that has been around for hundreds of years and obviously is still important to this day because people still do it. Mainly some will learn to ride a horse for pleasure, relaxation or just time by themselves. What’s you’re reason?

Pick up lines, I always wondered whether they actually worked. Some original Indian pick up lines like say “Hello Madam, I am your one and only Adam!” or “I want to make friendships with you!” always draw an extremely disgusted response as I have heard. Though I have never actually been there when such pick lines were used in public, but I do know for a fact that they used quite often. Now it never ceases to amaze me that these guys never figured that “Friendships” was incorrect English and that nobody ever seems to point it out to them. Well the actual users of these lines (branded cheesy and hogwash) are more often than not branded as losers, in some very special cases, total losers, born losers et al.Extensive reading on female psychology in my “I want to be Mel Gibson” (What Women Want?) phase had me convinced that when a guy successfully (termed as success, as guys tend to believe girls are a quest, I am no different) makes sensible conversation with a girl and asks her out (on a date), she decides as he is making his approach, whether it is a yes or no in her reply. This is regardless of what he says (at most times, not all, it cannot be obviously absurd). The general expectation is that she is asked, in mostly a nice, charming and polite manner. The words could even be a witty pick up line! This refutes the theories that pick up lines actually work (most guys think they do work), and that girls decide much before the actual even takes place. Now for a guy like me who has never had a girlfriend nor a date and no girls who are friends (for helpful advice, girls have this phenomenal intuition about other girls) this seems like a task akin to climbing Mount Everest. How to make the approach? More reading would help, so I bought another set of books on reading the body language of women. Since the hormones as usual drive me crazy, my will and speed of reading increased to a vast extent. So I read it all, come-hither signs, preening gestures, subtle signals and this I thought would be the best learning (though asking a girl would have taught me ten times as much I persisted).Pretty confident that I had the thinking of girls figured out and refreshing my current girl knowledge by reading Cosmo, Femina and other women oriented magazines. I started to analyze the behavior of women and started making calculated but general assumptions. Though this helped me in understanding what to do and how to ask a girl out, I lacked the essential ingredient (no intention to objectify women) in this mix, a girl to ask out? Turns out my general assumptions were anything but accurate and as the girls change so do their reactions. There have been actual cases of “Friendships” working and even the most polite and classy requests for a date have been rejected outright. Though it has always bothered me that the undeserving guys get the best girls, I always wondered, why is it so?After all that reading and research, I was and am back to square one. Little idea what of women think, by personal experience, what I say at different times is interpreted in various ways, though strangely I meant it in the same way. Maybe one day I will ask a girl out and just might succeed, though what will make me succeed will always be a mystery. Will it be a pick up line, or the abstinence from their use, maybe the attitude or the look? God only knows! The female version, the male version will not unless he is told what actually works!
